Group 1: 0, 4, 6, 8
Group 2: 2, 3, 5, 7
Group 3: 1, 9
What simple rule did Larry use to assign the numbers to their groups?

Six people, three husbands and their wives, are on one side of a river. They want to cross to the other side. Luckily, there is an empty boat on their side that each person can row. However, there's a problem: The boat can hold only two people at a time, so for everyone to get to the other side, the boat will have to be rowed across the river several times, traveling back-and-forth. Furthermore, there's another problem: Each husband is EXTREMELY jealous. None will tolerate having his wife being on any one of the sides or in the boat without him at any time, if another husband is there with her, EVEN if that other husband happens to have his wife there with him to supervise his wandering eye!
So then, how can all six people cross the river so that no wife is ever left in the company of another man (or men) without her husband being present?
